I have been campaigning for social justice and animal rights since my youth. For many years, I was active in various queer human rights organisations. As I adopted a vegan lifestyle, animal welfare and animal rights became increasingly central to my activism.<\/p>

In 2016, I travelled to Nepal for the first time and was deeply moved by the suffering of the stray dogs there. It was there that I met Sneha Shrestha, the founder of Sneha\u2019s Care Nepal. This encounter led to a close collaboration and eventually to the founding of Sneha\u2019s Care Deutschland, now known as Sneha\u2019s Care Deutschland e.V. Sneha\u2019s Care Tierhilfe Nepal e.V.<\/span> Since then, I have been travelling regularly to Nepal to oversee our projects on the ground and, together with our Nepalese team, provide sustainable support for stray dogs and other animals.<\/p>

I am particularly proud of our dedicated team in Germany, who put their heart and soul into supporting our work. Together, we are committed to improving the lives of animals in Nepal in the long term \u2013 through medical care, neutering programmes, education and rehoming.<\/p>

I work as a finance manager. I live in Wiesbaden with my wife and our two former stray dogs, Stoner and Lou. I was born in Cologne and now live in Duisburg with my partner, my dog Leia \u2013 whom I was able to adopt from Nepal through Sneha\u2019s Care \u2013 and our cat Evy.<\/p>

Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Thanks to Leia, I\u2019ve been able to experience first-hand just how much love, patience and hope there is in animal welfare. Every day, she reminds me why every effort is worthwhile.<\/p>

As well as Leia, I am also a sponsor for the shelter dogs Doctor and Putali. I know from my own experience how important sponsorships are. They ensure the animals have food, medical care and a safe home \u2013 especially those who have little chance of being adopted.<\/p>

Animal welfare is a cause close to my heart. As Vice-Chair of Sneha\u2019s Care Tierhilfe Nepal e.V., I am delighted to be able to help give stray and farm animals in Nepal a better future and to support the vital work carried out by our team on the ground.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I\u2019m Annika, a cheerful girl from Cologne in the Rhineland. Luckily, I grew up surrounded by animals and have always had at least one dog by my side ever since.<\/p>

In 2018, I visited Nepal for the first time as a tourist and gained many impressions whilst on a round-trip. In 2025, I spent another two weeks in Nepal, most of that time at the Sneha\u2019s Care shelter. Many of the animals there really grew on me. Although the dogs outnumber the other animals, it\u2019s the rescued pigs that have won me over the most. It\u2019s so wonderful that former \u2018farm animals\u2019 in particular can lead a life free from exploitation at Sneha\u2019s Care and are even treated to watermelons and raisins now and then.
I am delighted to have recently become treasurer on the board of Sneha\u2019s Care Deutschland.<\/p>

I now live in Wiesbaden with my wife, our Romanian stray dog from the Cologne animal shelter, and our former stray dog from Nepal. Sneha Shrestha is the founder of Sneha\u2019s Care Nepal and the heart of our organisation. Her commitment was sparked by a tragic incident in 2014, when a neighbour poisoned her beloved dog. Her grief led her to resolve to champion the cause of stray and farm animals in Nepal.<\/p>

With great courage and tireless dedication, she founded Sneha\u2019s Care. Today, the shelter provides a safe home for over 170 dogs and other rescued animals. In addition, Sneha works tirelessly every day to help thousands of animals in Nepal through neutering programmes, rescue operations and awareness-raising campaigns.<\/p>
